How do I calculate square footage?
For a rectangle, multiply length by width in feet. A 24 × 16 ft room is 384 square feet. For a circle, use π × radius². For a triangle, use ½ × base × height. Split irregular shapes into those pieces and add the results.
How many square feet are in a square yard?
Nine — a square yard is 3 ft by 3 ft. Divide square feet by 9 to get square yards. Flooring, carpet and paving are often priced this way.
How do I convert square feet to cubic yards?
Multiply the square footage by the depth in feet, then divide by 27. If depth is given in inches, divide it by 12 first. A 200 ft² area at 4 inches deep is 200 × 0.333 ÷ 27 = 2.47 cubic yards.
How many cubic feet are in a cubic yard?
27. A cubic yard is 3 × 3 × 3 feet. It is the unit almost every bulk material is sold in, so it is usually the number you actually need.
How many square feet are in an acre?
43,560 square feet — roughly a square 209 feet on each side.
